hey i've been offered a 1.8 eco tec c18xe fully running with ecu gearbox wiring loom to go in my corsa b, for £100 what needs to be done to fit? anybody know and is it worth it? where can i get it done?

i was thinking this.

a lot more insurance friendly than an XE and cheap as well by the looks of it.

for us poor/young people XE can get a little costly

not true. they will base the insurance cost on it being a higher power engine conversion. whether its a 1.8 or a 2.0 there wont be much difference.


get a 1.6 16v and tune it. better to insure and more tuning options.

C18XE is a stonking engine, similar to the 16XE but with larger bore but same stroke IIRC? was found in the Astra mk3 Cesaro and some GSi's i believe

x18xe1.... if you can find one, its smallblock, an earlier version of the z18xe if you will

in fact, after seeing pics of the C18XE, I think it is a reduced bore version of the 20XE

unsure if heads are interchangeable... there was a good few threads on mig about this, i think the oilways are different

The never made a 8v ecotec though

the C18XE is really good, esp for the money. I doub't you'd notice the difference tbh

c16xe head wont fit on a 1.8 block
