its a 1000w max , 500w rms audiobahn sub, so which amp would power it better ?............. an Alpine 700w max 350 rms amp for £150 , or a Mutant 1200w max 600 rms amp for same price ?? (wud turn gain dwn a touch wiv mutant) just cnt decide because alpine one may b better quality, but mutant one is more powerful.

i would get the mutant, but only because the alpine would be seriously underpowering the sub. Alpine are good, but even that doesn't matter when it can only chuck out 350watts.

i agree with whats been said that a monobloc will be the best way, and alpine stuff is nice quality.
Just get the most powerful & best made monobloc amp you can. That audiobahn sub will take more than 500w RMS... so long as it isnt being run into distortion or hitting the backstop the sub is lovin it
