anyone know how to wire an electronic speedo into a car that was originally cable driven?

i think ive got all the parts i need:

electronic clocks
speedo sender for gearbox

the only thing im unsure of is that the ecu currently gets the "vehicle speed signal" from the transducer on the old cable driven clocks. will the signal from the new gearbox transducer do the same job?

the transducer has 3 wires from it:

brown: earth
black: switched live
blue/red: signal

is this correct? and will i have to mess around with the wires at the back of the clocks? or will they just plug straight in?

I am pretty sure the cable driven clocks have a vehicle speed sender built in to the speedo head which provides the signal to the ECU. When you put in the new clocks this signal will come from the gearbox sender to the clocks and then to the ECU so I think it will still work OK with what you are palnning.

so i will need to wire the red/blue wire into the clocks, then to the ecu?

anyone know which pins i will have to wire it to on the back of the clocks?
