can anyone give me any tips on how to get the orange peel effect off the arches. tried sanding with 120 grit wet n dry but it is taking forever. just wondered if there was an easier way.

lower grit sandpaper or a sander

tried lower grit but it seems to leave deep scratches?

you using wet and dry? plenty of water?

halfords only had aluminium oxide paper that was lower than 120 not wet n dry. yer tried using water

yeah but it's best to sand them down until you get them smooth otherwise the bobbles can show through the paintwork.

Trust me mate it's worth the time and effort

jus been doing it for 10 mins, managed to get about 1/4 of an arch done and feels like my arms gona drop off

do it with some aluminium oxide paper. go for 80 grit. take 2 mins to do all over. it does leave scrathes, but then go over with 120, then work up to 400 or 600 and itll be perfectly smooth for priming.

dont bodge and leave it for high build primer to sort out, itll never fill it enough
