ive just bought a -40 mm spring kit, i want to fit them myself, what tools do i need, some sort of tutorial would be handy?

haynes max power book was all i needed oh an a nice sunny day and a few drinks

you will need:

Spring compressors
17 mm socket
17mm Ring spanner (offset type)
9mm spanner or socket
and a 12 mm spanner or socket

Then just think it through... its all self explanatory

you will need spring compressors if all you have is lowering springs, if you have coilovers then you wont need the compressors

I also needed a 16mm socket/spanner for the nuts at the top of the rear strut (you wont need this if its only springs your fitting) and the 3 nuts holding the front strut onto the bulkhead were 13mm on mine.

i couldn't get the top nut off the shock for sh1t( as the shock was turning with the nut) , so i brought a power wrench from argos (£15) and used that and worked a treat.
