Bulb has gone in my dash, where the fan switch/hot/cold switch etc is, cant see the knobs in the dark, kinda annoying...just wondering how to get the panel off to change it? havent found myself a nice haynes yet

Oh btw its a 1.2 8v merit

Its very tricky to replace the first time you do it though, Vauxhall charge around £80 for the 3 bulbs (fitting).

You need a lot of patience to do it, so if you dont have that, then it's best that you leave it - do you really need the bulb anyway?

its only easy when you know HOW to do it exactly!! so take your time and rememeber were everything goes!!

i can whip it of and back on within 5 minutes!

was a complete mission the first few times though plus i never had a Haynes manual

Tis the bulb behind the knob with which you can direct air at either windscreen/feet/ etc... not desperate for a new bulb no, will wait for them all to blow before getting new ones then lol

Dont change 1 bulb, do all 3 at once in my advice. I think there are 3

Did mine around 3 weeks ago but i didnt know where to look for the bulbs so ripped the whole centre console out, disconnected all the heater/fan cables etc. Looking back was a piece of piss, even easier if i knew where the bulbs were in the first place!

(got my bulbs off addictive E-Bay, 99p for ten.........went to halfords, they wanted 1.49EACH for Bosch ones, fcuk that!)

They are 12 volt, 1.2 watt, 5mm wedge base light bulbs i think!

Ok, just read in the haynes manual they are 2 watts. Problem is I cant find any 2 watt'd ones

1.2w would be too dull?

They are about 20p from vaux, id get them from vaux personnally as i want them to work and for the sake of not even a quid its not worth worrying about

even I have the same problem but the thing is that here in Malta we can only buy them from OPEL or LEPO (which gets fake opel products). so please tell me if you know any company which would send them to me.
