Have i misread the thread or are you trying to say that rallye does 162mph?

SetH, the car the engine used to be in did 162.summat at Brunters. The Rallye has never been tested for top speed.

I was sceptical too but I think it's possible. The engine pulls the same in every gear.

Yeah i dont doubt the engine, I just think the aerodynamics and the gearing will prevent it from getting 162, I take its still running the s2 rallye gbox or a Gti one? Im pretty sure they are the same unit though. Dont get me wrong i love rallyes, but even with 170bhp and im guessing the kerb weight will be 850kg with that engine i dont think it will get that speed. Would love to see it go down the strip though. I used to own an s1 and s2 rallyes, really miss them
