Just thought I'd straighten a few things out.
The car was originally a 1.6 8v, 103bhp standard. The engine was bought already complete, and then mounted with the manifold, Pug Sport system etc. The spec of the car now is:
Bianca white 106 rallye
H+r coilovers front 90mm rear with bilstein sprint dampers

sparco lower wishbone brace , sparco strut brace

supersprint stainless manifold , pugsport group n manifold back exhaust
beige injectors
MBE stand alone ecu + custom loom

Mocal oil cooler
169bhp @ THE WHEELS
The Audi in the film belongs to a friend of ours, and is a 1.8T Quattro, engine chipped etc, so the power is up to 225 mark, if not a little more.

very impressive mate someone mentioned tb's on a 1.6 is cheaper than doing it to a vaux...hwo much did that all set you back if you dont mind me asking?
and also was you at that holiday Inn where the battle of nemo took place before tracx

well i know of a decent un molested 106 GTi going for cheap so might just do it....as a run around...hmmm

well got a fully rebuilt XE so would be a waste to bin it plus 106's look good std so wont be tempted to mod it....i think

LOL Yeh, the car belongs to the lad who was battling over Nemo at Trax, I just did the filming/editing.
Cost, well TBs for that engine are £2k +, the trumpets on that one are one offs, cut down machined E30 M3 ones. Wouldn't say it's cheaper to TB the GTi lump over a XE.
All in all that engine cost £12k to build, but not by the lad who owns it now.
Times, 0-60 in 5s, 1/4 mile in very low 14s, top speed of 162mph.
