Yes you could tune it but you could spend the same on the vtec and it would still be in front!

The jdm EK9 Civic Type R produces 185bhp from the B16 engine!!

ive read articles of the b16a engine pushing out over 200bhp n/a so how does that compare to the 150bhp??

comparisons should be made standard to standard not tuned to standard

I've been in a 1.6 corsa with over 200hp N/A with no VTEC


I used the 200bhp to try and make a point that theres always guna be a more powerful engine.

at the end of the day the corsa gsi is being compared with the crx del sol, i'd like to add my opinion and standard for standard the crx is in a whole different league imo of course

i think the jist of the replys in here are that the vaux 1.6 engine can make the same power with modification

it may have been detuned, but it's still not 160+bhp Standard.

modification yes, easyly,

people are trying to get the point across that the b16a2 makes 168 BHP standard and without modification

ric, you speak wisely . My side of the argument was, just because the CRX engine had 160bhp as standard, doesnt make it an amazing engine. Just a good engine, just like the 16XE.
