I recently fitted a Piper Camshaft Kit KBV 13270H to my Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 8 Valve C12 NZ engine 1994. I fitted new Valve Springs and lapped in the Valves.
After fitting the Cylinder head I aligned the timing marks as stated in the manual and fitted a new cambelt.
The problem I am experiencing is a uneven idle and stalling and also a very bad flatspot when you pull away and up to approx 3000rpm then the engine appears to respond slightly better than the original camshaft.
Before we changed to the Piper camshaft the engine performed well and we hoped to see a performance gain, but this is not the case.
Could you possibly tell me if you still align the timing marks as standard or do you have to adjust it to a different position when you fit the Piper camshaft. i think i need to use a timing disc but i dont have one with the cam as it was 2nd hand.
Any info would be very appreciated.

Cheers Mark

Dont forgett that a performance cam will lose you low down power. If its wild enough it will mess with i idle also, Ya have to get the revs up before the cam gains kick in but still you will only be looking at a few horses

as grease monkey said.
if its a wild cam then expect rough idle and no low down power.

how its running at the moment is undrivable to get the revs up takes years. i think it is the timing disc as the engine is getting hotter. the cam is only a fast road cam so its not that much more wild.

could also be fueling, as there is only 1 injector remember...

I think it was in total-vaux, they were doing a 1.2 8v tuning guide & said that fitting a larger injector from a 1.4 & a adjustable fuel-presure regulator will help to supply more fuel & tweak it with the regulator till you get it setup right, but also like adam says maybe a vernier may help to sort it too by adjusting the timing slightly
