You'd have to change the whole way the VTEC engine works to fit a turbo. The two engines work in a completely different way.

not really, a chip wud easily sort that... £400 gets one that lowers the VTEC 2 5.5k an u can also get ones which eliminate VTEC for s/c's etc

Maybe its an optional extra Robbo, but trust me they sell the car with white strips through the side of the car.

Looks terrible.

There is no problem fitting a turbo to a vtec engine... if you want really big power suitable cams/pistons etc are available to suit. The USA love for drag racing means there are numerous parts available for vtec turbos.

Ok robbo explain then....

my understanding is that its a high lift cam/valve arrangement which kicks in high rev power/torque....almost like a powerband. No low level torque means that you receive poor acceleration at low revs until the vtec zone.....if changing into higher gears takes you out of this zone you surely arent going as fast as a turbo (very flat torque curve)

HAHAHAHAH

Whats the fastest Astra in the world?

Whats the fastest Civic?

Which ones faster

Fuck me, the Astra is 'nippy' cos of a turbo, the CTR is because of the engineering that went into it...

yes forgot no engineering went into making a turbo charged engine. both cars are quick. with the CTR being slightly faster to 100mph. I'd prefer the GSi due to the engine and ride mainly. I also think it looks better

And benny, when driving fast, you NEVER drop out of the powerband..

Thats the beauty of it, you are basically running very high lift cams, but with none of the low end lumpiness..

a VTEC system has NEVER failed... if theyve had orblems it will be because it has been modified in soem ways

Well put it this way..

You could slap a turbo onto a CTR for £1500.. no probs..

You try putting VTEC into the Vauxhall for that
