Gsi's are quicker than CTR's only marginally tho,

preffer a GSi after driving a CTR it was restless cos u have to rev the nuts of it to get it to anywhere, preffer more torque persoanally :thunbs:

the GSi is quicker to 60 is it not from most mag tests I have seen and slightly quicker in gear times as well. CTR faster above 60 and 1/4 mile and 0-100mph

CTR - quicker round a track thn an astra gsi

last year autocar did a hot hatch test where they pitted all the top hot hatches (minus the focus RS) around rockingham and the CTR was fastest, followed by 172 cup, saxo vts, 106 gti, then the astra gsi

rather have v-tec power over ecotec

Astra Coupé Turbo is a lot better around a track than the Gsi.

yes round a track. every day driving is done round a track. most peope that own these car race in a straight line either rom traffic lights or on the move. closest these cars get to tracks are coming off round abouts and thats a great way to show power between two cars which are evenly matched.

from my experience CTR's arent that quick until they come into their v-tec's powerband in 3rd gear

my clio keeps up til about 70mph and then it foooks off

Driver's car would mean the Astra winning hands down.

What I love most about my car is the fact I only have to touch the accelerator and I'm off. Couldn't bare waiting til 7,000rpm

i'd have the gsi. The CTR is torqueless and has to be thrashed to get any performance out of it.

I think the torque value is about 165 for the CTR, very poor considering its a 2.0

Spend £1500 tuning a CTR and £1500 spending a Astra. See which is faster!
