Bugger me Adam!! Did you do it all yourself? I was looking at mine today thinking "I can't get that lot out by myself"

Fancy a trip down to mine at the weekend to help remove the SR engine?

mate you'd be better off sticking with your engine, his is the spi 60bhp model, you've got the mpi 82bhp one in the SRi

Adam my mate is saying that we should lift the engine out of the Nova rather than lower it out.

What would you advise? I reckon lowering it out is easier.

has yours a anti roll bar? if so lower it out
you cant lift it out on a corsa cos of the batterey tray bracket

either way is ok for you
but i lifted the whole car with the engine hoist via rope rounf the anti roll bar then rolled the engine forward and slid it out the side

Its had one fitted yes.

The battery tray in the Nova is behind the engine.

ollie, drop the engine, just make sure you keep it level while lifting the front of the car over it.

i removed the old engine from my corsa by myself, but made it easier by stripping it all down first so was just the block & gearbox left

adam, good job there
