im tired but well happy
balljoints are a bastid to get out with a splitter
and that driveshaft hub nut is 1. massive 2. really tight!!! i was pulling the car forwards with the brakes full on and handbrake on!!

count yourself lucky you have your brother to give you a hand, i had to strip the c20let out the astravan,fit a 1300 in astravan,strip 1.4 engine out of the corsa and fit the c20let in the corsa,take it back out again for a mods and back in again i will hire your brother as a spanner passer on the next LET say £10 a day?

but i lifted the whole car with the engine hoist via rope rounf the anti roll bar then rolled the engine forward and slid it out the side



i tied a rope to the engine trolley i made, lifted the car off the axle stands, while a neighbour slid the engine out from underneath cant beat manual labour

today was a esy rest kinda day
setup new engine for fitting took the p/s pump off
and ive done it before and for the 2nd time a gear box is a bastid to fit
done it thou

fited the gear linkage to the gear box
swapped the engines round and moved my car ready for fitting tomorow.
im missig two bolts so ill have to get them at some point before i start the car

and its still gonna be hit and miss if the cat ive got will fit
bloody hope so

SWEET matey i feel ya pain, i swapped an engine in my Nova, swapped a 1litre for a 1.4SR had to change fuel tanks the lot, lol,
And 4months ago i swapped me C16XE engine for the doomed new C16XE, managed to do that myself didnt get one bit of help off no one, good luck get some pics up of ya progress, you ahead of me now, my engine bays still empty

engine is in

ill connect it up tomorow coz its damm cold outside and im waiting on parts from lookers
but yes my engine is in

ive got to connect
clutch, gear linkage, speedo cable, fuel lines, alternator and starter, waiting on accel cable to be delivered, and a special socket for the drive belt pulley, and fit the driveshafts

apart from that im done

ill get pics in bout 10 mins

tis c16xe is 109 bhp.
but with a modified airbox, grp a s/s exhaust system,
removed p/s pump i recon i have gained at least 1bhp to round it off to a nice 110bhp

gonna be weird going from a slow 8v car to a relatively quick 16v - you have to drive it completely different.

Get a velo's torque tube on it!

i reckon you should have around 115bhp because full system gives around 5bhp and yours is group a so should give a bit more
