engine sometimes struggles to slart up on its own. it revs at about 500 and nearly stalls. after 30 seconds it goes up to about 1.2k and is fine again. It also sometimes jerks when driving at 2-4k. Could this be the ICV totally knackered as i have already cleaned it and didnt do much. Engine feels as fast as normal though apart from start up and some jerking at crusing speeds. Its a 1996 1.4 16v sport.

does it only do it when cold. if you switch the engine off when warm, then try and start does it start ok

sorted the problem it was the vacume hose to the MAp sensor which had popped off. problem sorted
