You have a choice in what you want and how much space you wanna take up... You could either run 2 amps, one for sub and one for the speakers. or you could get 1, 4 or 3 channel amp.
Basically for the speakers you need 2 channels, one for the left speaker and one for the right. The cross over will send the right sound frequencies to your 6x9's so that you don't have too much bass/treble running through them. This is normally controlled on the amp by a switch or dial.
For the Sub you need either a 1 channel monoblock amp for subs or you could bridge a 2 channel amp to send all of the amps power to one mono speaker (sub). The crossover will be set on the amp to send bass to it.
To use just one amp everything is set up the same as on 2 amps really...
All you need then is a wiring kit which should have a + wire to connect the battery to the amp(s), a ground wire, an RCA lead to connect the head unit to the amp(s) and a remote wire to connect the the head unit so the amps turn off when you turn the head unit off. Oh, and some decent speaker cable...

You will also need a 'y' splitter for the RCA lead so that you can connect both the amps to one RCA lead, unless you have a rear output and a sub output on your head unit (you should use 2 RCA leads then)...
