Do you need a different gearbox if changing engines from a 1.4SRi 8v to a 1.4SRi 16v?
Both engines around abouts the same year (both Corsa b)

i think the 8valve SRi came with an F10 box and the 16valve an F13
Can someone second this or tell me im wrong?

i think the 8v will be an f13 and the 16v either a f15 or perhaps an f13 Either way the gearbox will be fine!

1.4 16v will be an F13 gearbox.
1.2 16v
1.4 8v
1.4 16v
All F13 GB.

The SRi 8v and 16v both came on the same gearbox, F13/5 CR.
Some came with F15/5 CR but I'm not sure which or whether they were foreign ones,special editions etc.
I'm pretty sure the F13 and F15 have the same ratios anyway, just slightly different internals

Im telling you, as i have before, all 1.4 16v's I've come across have had F15's.

Most do, but there are a fair few about that had the F13 too, not to mention the ones that have already had a recon/exchange box fitted that may be different from standard.
Was a common thing 4/5 years back to see different boxes fitted to the same car/engine thing with vauxhalls. I had owned 2 mk3 astra with the C14SE engine (same as the corsa sri 8v) and one had an F13 and the other had an F15... both the same year 1994.
Just one of them things!
