Be careful when handling after lacquering. Even though it may feel touch dry the next day, the surface might still be soft enough for fingerprints to be left in it.
This might help..

Also if you heat it up a bit then you dont need to leave it overnight after paint to lacquer. You can just leave it fiffteen minutes and then lacquer after that.

I do 600 grit for smoothing down plastic

Apply 3-4 coats of primer

800 grit to smooth down primer

3-4 coats of paint

leave for an hour or so...then apply 2 coats of laquer, then leave overnight.

Once its totally dry i use 1200 grit to smooth off laquer, then use t-cut to finish it off.

Right i just went to my local car accessory store..picked out a paint, its a rover colour not a vauxhall but i liked it.

The primer and laquer the same from the shop. I t doesn't matter which stuff u use cos mine has some weird name but its works fine. Cheers mate i spent about a week doin lots of the bits, i have now done the door handles, im considering the window winders and 2 parts surrounding the steering wheel, also a new steering wheel
