would this be the same method as colour coding the interior? i have been doing the interior for hte last few days so i kno wot im doing there but unsure wot to use for the bump strips as there a bit rubbery? would u jus use the normal plastic primer?

the rubber ones will need plasticiser in the paint, get some post 97 ones to paint up.

plasticiser?? so i cant jus use plastic primer and then my normal halfords paint?

I used plastic primer (many many coats) and then normal paint and laquer and it was fine dude but taken them off now as looks better without them with a bodykit

right ok then il jus use loadsa plastic primer then, got loadsa time, the missus is on holiday!

no mate, as soon as you bend it in the slightest to put them back on it will crack, if you knock it in the carpark it will crack, on rubber you need to use plasticiser, it makes the paint flexible. infact even if you knocked them with your knee etc.. the paint will crack, its the same for the rubber skirt on the bottom of the front bumper also.

if you do post 97 ones ie the bigger plastic ones then use the same method as for the interior plastic.
i do all my own spraying bodywork infact everything so im not a nobody who doesnt have a clue what they are on about.

ok wel ive got post 97 ones so where do i get this plasticiser? do i need to mix it with my current paint or wot? cheers 4 the helpo mate, i already knew u did al ur own sprayin!

oh right, nah just spray them as normal, i was thinking you meant the rubber ones from older models.

i live 25miles north of the river, it took us 30 mins to drive to max london at dockland last sunday going no quicker than 75.
