YEah, it'll fit, same as an F16, F18, F20, F28 will fit an XE.

But F13 came on the 1.2/1.4 16v and the F15 on the 1.6.

I had a 1.4 16v I know my own gearbox

F13 box will go on 1.6 engines. Luke Thomas is running an F13 gb on his 1.6 16v Turbo/Mantzel box. Hence why i know on the standard limiter the F13 box only hts 117mph. 1.6 goes faster than that as standard (119mph (X16)).

Not all 1.6s had F15 boxes. We had to buy 4 from our local breakers before we got one, (which came from a 1.8 Cav.). We then had to change the input shaft bearing as it was 1mm different in size. Good old Quaiffe internals.

1.4 16Vs came with F15 if not all then certainly some!

1.8 cav is big block so wouldnt have been fitted with an F15 it would be F16.

97 1.4 and 1.6 16Vs inc sport and CDX were both fitted with identical ratios. I belive the GSi had a different ratio final drive though!

1.4 16v DID NOT come with F15 gb Read the replies CDX is a 1.4. 1.6 16v retained the F15 gearbox. How else does it make 119mph with a gearbox that only allows 117mph on the standard 6620rpm limiter???

GSi will have the F15 box.

Daimo you are not perfect you read the replies. I build gearboxes for a living. I know some 1.4 16vs had the F15 box i'm not saying they all did. The ratios in the 97 16vs are ALL the same.

Cams in the 1.4 and 1.6 16v i thought were the same? Top ends are the same, bottom ends are different?

cc etc?? Why, if the limiter is at 6620rpm using an F13 box then it simply wont allow the speed to be about 117mph!!!!

And Ainsly, im not saying im perfect? WTF is that about?

So, vauxhall used the same engines for what 7 years, all done the same speed, sam 0-60, same 0-100, same top end, but they have different gearboxes?

Quite how you can work that out i dont know!

My 1.4 16v had an F15. I thought they all did, even though haynes says F13.
