at the moment i have got avast antivirus but it carnt get rid of 3 viruses and windows keep poping up a little box in the bottom left hand side saying `you have a security problem!` 
 
can anyone recomend any programs to get rid of the viruses?

What program is actually saying that? Windows wouldnt normally say you have a virus, it could be a spyware program saying that.

ive had avg before so download a trial avg last night until i can find a fre version. did a quick avg compuer scan and it picked up 11 horses and seems to be alright now so looks like it did the job, ta guys

Sounds more like something a rogue anti-spyware program would say, to me. Let us know if it comes back, I know a guy who owns malware removal.
