took my car to the garage the other day, rang me back told me a wiring loom has corroded so thats the fault said he would fix it by today, rang him no he reckons i need a new gearbox to get the speedo working again , can fit one for £85 
should it just tell him to gtf?

sounds like a gtf to me. ive never heard of a gearbox make the speedo . its probably the speedo cable thats attached to the gearbox

unless the bit it tightens into is buggered?
But then again isnt that just a switch you can change or sumink?

yeh he said the drive inside has been smashed off inside it but there is no way it has because i removed it myself.
