The speedometer is shot on my car an doesnt work. just wondering what the part on the gearbox which calculates the speed is called and where and how much it will cost to fix?

the clocks are electrically driven so its not the cable that has snapped?

Thanks

Does the car cut out when you slow down towards junctions?

If it doesnt then the speed sensor is working fine as the ECU is getting a reading from it.

This will mean that the dash isnt getting a signal which will lead me to believe that there is a break in the wire somewhere

Whats the code?

If the speed sensor was fucked then the car would cut out when slowing down.
