HI ALL
My 95 1.4 16v ecotech, cuts out sometimes when i come to a stop at junctions when warm. I have had it checked by a local garage , who use a vauxhall man for these problems, and his box of tricks came up with a few fault codes. All have been sorted except code 24 speed sensor, no speed signal ? have put the original radio back in ( as i have been told this can cause it ) . It does not stall every time, but it is very annoying, not to mention dodgy with no power steering. Any help will be greatfully received. Also somebody has mentioned, speed sensor is picked up from the speedo, so could a new speedo be the problem ?
Many thanks

My C16xe does the same mate. I also have the dredded no. 24 fault code!
My dials still work so i figgured the sensor must be working, just the feed wasn't getting to the ECU. Also it doesn't always do it which made the think the break wasn't constant.
After looking at wiring diagrams and searching under the bonnet i found a blue/brown wire in the main loom had a big pinch in it. This is the vehicle speed sensor feed to the ECU
Next time i take off my top inlet (access is impossible without doing this) i will solder the wire properly and see if it fixes it.

i had similar problem, check your map sensor, mine had snapped wire which caused it to overfuel to hell and cut out, how would your radio affect it?!

HI
I was told ( by the vauxhall guru ) the speed sensor comes from the speedo, to the radio, so as to adjust the volume according to the cars speed and then onto the ecu.
