is it ok to clean my butterfly on my punto with carb cleaner as it looking slightly dirty dont no if this is due to me recently fitting my k&n

Should be, but might be an idea to double check with your local Fiat dealer just in case.

just spray the carb cleaner in2 the air in take and that wil b fine ok

Yes Eel.
Keep the engine running or have someone do it for you (it will try and stall), if it's particularly mucky and gunked up, give it a good soaking and scrub at the worst bits with an old toothbrush and a clean rag soaked with carb cleaner and then fire her up again (might take a few goes and you will get a bit of black smoke out of the back of the car) and then give her a bit more of a squirt afterwards while revving her to keep her going.
You will need to alter the ammount you're spraying in from one second to the next as she will try and stall the whole time, due to carb cleaner not being combustible.
