i have a 1.2 8v and currently get about 50 miles out of a tenner!
any ideas why???

heavy right foot! its hard to say theres so much that could be wrong, temp sensor could be favourite on rear of manifold depends if its running rich or not?

same here m8. used to get 100 outta a tenner now am lucky to get 60. suppose sum of the loss is down to the fcukin government an increased petrol prices. but other than that am at as much of a dead end as u. help..... any1???

i get about 80miles to the £10 at the mo, 50 or 60 if i thrash it everywhere

think it was just the air filter, its all dirrty, ill get a nu hi-flow one n let yus kno

got a new filter fitted and cleaned the injector but its still only doing 50 to a tenner :S fuel filter? or injector being gay?

[Edit]:forgot it only has 1 injector, iva had a colour tune kit on it and it reckons the mixture is ok, saying that it failed on emissions on first mot

ideas any1??

try 2 things check all your vacum hoses and the other is get a can of carb cleaner and spray it over your inlet manifold etc

and then if there is an air leak the revs will drop or make it mis-fire slightly
from drawing the carb cleaner in

if you spray in carb cleaner revs will drop and it will missfire wether there is an airleak or not!

why will it if there is not an air leak it will not mis fire it would be like spraying it onto a sheet of metal?

because petrol engines dont burn carb cleaner 'cleanly' spraying anything down the intake other than air will cause revs to drop and missfire.

fair but if there is no leak unless you spray it directly onto the air filter it should not matter?
im talking about spraying across the top of the inlet manifold not the filter

yup, my drives clean and it doesnt smell, doesnt use it unless i drive it either, mine likes carb cleaner,runs like a rocket on that stuff lol, what should my ron plug be set to?

which ever is less on normal unleaded
or the higher 1 for super unleaded

95 for normal unleaded
98 for super

I usually only get about 50miles to a tenner too!
Just had an mot and full service which i thought might have given me a few more miles on a tenner but it hasn't!!
