How?

I'm going to be replacing them but I'm not sure how to get them off

edit - head is not on an engine, and has no valve springs/valves in it...

All that is left on them is the stem seal and the lower spring seat washer thingy.

I've never stripped a head properly, only valves out

So the valves are out the head..

It's just a case of putting the valve back into the head, sliding the valve stem seal on, then fitting them fiddily collets!

Tried that, just ripped one apart and left half of it in there

I'll try again in a bit.

you can get a proper kit to remove and refit them, hang on ill find it

when i did mine, i ended up snapping most of the valve guides as well oops

you squish them together..... then the same from the opposite sides, then grab them from the top with pliers..

easy peasy

so press from the sides with plyers.... then opposite.... it free's them right up

Needle nosed mole grips are the way forwards.
