im in need of getting my tb'd 2.0xe rebuilt the piston rings r nackered and has shit loads of crank case pressure, i think the car was mapped with the rings nackered and was just wondering what the score is with getting it remaped after iv rebuilt it, shud i get it remaped b4 i start the car in case it over fuels and washes the bores and fucks them or does anybody think it will be ok to start it and drive it a couple of hundredmmiles them get it remaped then. cheers

best bet is to get it re-mapped straight away what management are you running it on? most of the aftermarkets will have a base map which will run the car but you will need to gwet it fully remapped to get the best out of the engine

I would rebuild it now and just get it running. no point remapping it as it is because you wont have correct compression with the rings being knackered so the map wont be right. If you want it looking at just bring it over and I will have a good look at the map on it and see why its running so rich
