remap sessions vary starting from £30 and hour to £50 an hour.

some times take an hour or 2 or maybe more so just need to times the hourly rate.

dunno about risks but can change your MPG.

good choice mate

Personally I wouldnt go any lower than 60mm, otherwise its going to chew driveshafts, steering racks and your gearbox will probably get shagged aswell

Eccosse ram air is a good shout, I have the simota one myself and a Piper full system (sweet sound) get one of them too

Vts rims looks the dogs bollocks too

Mine is down 40mm and handles very well I like the gti rims too and by keeping the 14's you keep muchos acceleration!!

The remap may give you a few extra ponies with the induction kit and head work but is more likely to give better fuel consumption as the air/fuel mixture will be more appropriate (someone stop me if im talking shit)

A remap will give the biggest gains if you have had high lift cams or more serious engine work done

As for the induction kit, stick with the Ecosse one, there meant to be better, infact a girl up here has one and a de-cat exhaust and made 136bhp on the rollers. Thats an increase of 16 bhp over the standard unit

stuart arn't some of the gti's 130bhp?

for a remap, i know jamsport have had good results with the pugs, looking at about £350+vat for their proper remap. a remap will make the most of all your mods, expecially if you have cams and head work...

yeah mine came at 130bhp as standard

Up here Dastek charge £350 for a remap and unichip but as you pointed out this is more beneficial with cams etc
