On Sunday not got much to do and I've been meaning to give the engine a cleanup for ages what can I use to clean the parts pointed at in yellow around the spark plugs? It's peeling/going rusty and spoils the amazing 1.2 bay

Cheers

Mine hasn't even done 30k yet but most it's journeys are short so I assume it's them that's made the bottom part look a little messy

Ah, mines done 84k so there all sorts of stuff leaked out over time, with it being mostly bare metal it shows up alot.

I thought all the face lift models got 16v engines (aside from the 1.0 of course)?

Nah some were on the changeover, just getting rid of the last engines I presume so they tidied them up a little bit. Anything after S is either 16v or a 12volt AFAIK

You can't polish a turd... Ahem... Er.....

Jet wash the bugger after pouring a tin of gunk over it. It's DIS so it shouldn't cause too many issues.
