Right, quick bit of help please!!!
Just dismantled dash to replace bulbs behind heater controls. Unfortunately, with me being clumsy, I have managed to break the heated rear window dial (ie. when I pull outwards to turn the heater on, the dial comes out in my hand) How the fcuk am I supposed to unclip this thing properly?! I guess to fix it, I just need a new 1 from the scrappy?

How do I release it properly then? I thought I was doing it right by prising it off from beneath?!

to be honest ,whenever Ive had to get mine off,if you just pull it,it will eventually come off, thats why I think you might have snapped a retaining clip, try pushing it back on ,it may have to click in or something similar

from memory i think you pull it out as you would to turn on window heater then slip a screwdriver inside the hole at the bottom and depress the clip while pulling.

yep there's a small hole that you can get a narrow electricians screwdriver in, push it up and it depresses the locking tab, if you just prise the knob off this little tab breaks off.
