My dip stick has snapped off

I mean the circualr metal pipe that you put the dip stick into has snapped off at the base

is this easy to fix or will it have to go the garage?

I Curently have a block of Blue take over the hole

What engine?

If you mean Blu-tack I would take that off, it'll melt and go in the engine. Really you need to not use the car.

blue tack isnt ideal, but it will be fine short-term. easy enough to relace, so get it sorted asap.

car will still be driveable though

and the tape wouldnt stick as its v dirty

agreed the blue tack will just melt and fall off or into the engine i'd think of something else or not use the car til is sorted

was blutac not originally designed by the americans to use to plug holes in radiators on their army JEEPs? if i am correct, then surely it wont melt, and you will probably be oine of the first people in ages to use it properly
