Keep the original fabric on I would - as its a pain in the ass to remove and get a smooth result as the foam backing is wel stuck on. It'll also give a more padded end result when you trim over them.

the seals dead esy to remove, trim under and then recover, its just a case of repositioning the clips in the right place

Evo-Stick 528 is recommended by Cobra to re-trim doors with. Its apparently in a green tin and will stick it no problem.

sorry, but i have to totally disagree with you here. left the origanal material on my back door cards and im redoing them for 2 reasons :

1. it hasnt stuck properly
2. u have to slam the rear doors just so they close now cos the door card gets in the way.

i took all the old material off the front doors and they look much better. esspecially with something as thick as leather your better off taking the old stuff off first

i used evostick timebond, comes in a tin and doesnt set quite as quickly so its easier to move the material around once its on, otherwise once it touches you cant move it atall.

the front has stuck perfect, the back is coming off, but thats nothing to do with the heat. its the old material underneath.

spray adheasive is crap, did my parcel shelf using that once and it came unstuck. evostick timebond in a tin is bloody strong, took me 1 1/2 hours to peel my grey acoustic carpet of my parcel shelf so i could do it black. once its on it aint coming off again.
