right when i boot my car to about 6k the rev counter starts to go silly and starts bouncing and the car chugs
the managment light as been on
i have had the fault code read
it says CTS but this is new (although i know it cud still be faulty)
and low rpm signal
any ideas what this could be?

might be reading it wrong, but sounds like you've hit the rev limiter, if there is a problem with the ECU I believe sometimes it drops the rev limit?

well the CTS reading from the fault code will be from before, did you remember to clear it?
The rpm signal, thats the crank speed sensor...i guess it could be to do with that..

which crank sensor do u mean?
yer its been cleared mate ye
but i havent had it read since i had it cleared so maybe that wont come up agen
i thought about crank sensor wud this be the one at the front of the block under the manifold?

Crank sensor always comes up if you read the codes without the engine running.

but the rev counter is bouncing when it gets high up in the rev range

nothin to do with the limiter cos it happens at different places on the rev counter
