hey guys sat in car to night and noticed that its making high pitched sound had look under engine and it seems to be coming from the left side of engine where cambelt is i think any idea why its doing this as car only as only done 18 k oh its s reg 1.4 breeze hope sum one as idea cheers

dunno i dont know much about engines its comin from left side under a black piece of plastic

the cambelt is behind the cover mate, fan belt is visible... is it a high pitched squeeking?? if so its your fanbelt mate. only a couple of quid for a new one, if you want to fit it yourself , if not take it to a garage and it will be around £12 fitted

if its coming from behind the timing belt cover, it could well be water pump or rollers on the way out. you should really get this checked over because if anything seizes, goodbye valves

shoot great only had car month plus like said only done 18k but cheers guys ill take it to garage later

its the fan belt... £5 from you local motor factors... 10 mins(if that) to fit...

i had a good look to night sounds like water pump so dunno how much thats gonna cost cheers for help guys

30 quid for a water pump... but it would be adviseable to change the timing belt kit while doing that job....
about 100 quids worth if you do it yourself... double that if you go to a garage and 4 times that if you take it to vaux...
still think its your fan belt though
