on a distributorless engine, theres a big blak box, to the right of the boxy thing where the distributor would normally be, on that bit there is two plugs, one big one and one small one, a bit like a headlight connector, what is the small one?

the reason I ask is that my car isnt running right, and when I unplugged it, the ECU light came on, but it made no difference to the running of my car at all, so was just wondering if it was the sensor ot whatever it connects too.

uhh, I have no idea what an EGR is, nor do I have a turbo?!
the box controls ignition I believe, as the big wire goes to the distributorless unit, i just want to know if that small plug leads to some kind of sensor?
