rust on tailgate,arches,b pillar and above windscreen (pull rubber back and look). open hatch and lift carpet and check the panel that runs along the back of car where the lock engages for any damage.

also check for mayonase on oil filler cap (indicates if head gasket going) and if its 1.0 you are looking at listen for a noisy timing chain as very expensive to change (vaux £400-500).

mayonaise on filler cap can be common on cars which are only used on short journeys. Check the chassis rails underneath, especially the behind the front wheeels as they can rot there.

and the anti-roll bar for any sign of damage (I've now found 2 corsa's that have been in big crashes)
