as above, car releases sooty black smoke at higher revs, any ideas y?

I though black smoke was oil and blue/grey is fuel? Not getting enough air in? Faulty Lamba, Air mass meter?

i thought black was fuel and blue was oil and white was water. should be getting plenty of air in, not sure about the lambda sensor and there isnt an air mass meter

ahah ive got a memory like a siv!! TB's

i'd get it on a meter to see what emmisions its throwing out. You touched anything lately? Something's telling it its running less air than it is, or less fuel. I'd deffo look at the lamba. Is it a serious ammount of smoke? Whats it running like, fuel consumption?

it seems to run ok, and i havent noticed a difference in the fuel consumption, its always been crap. it passed the emissions test for MOT about a month ago
