is it even remotely possible to get a 2.0 8v lump on twin 45's through an emissions test at MOT time ?

why dont you just use a proper engine 2.0 8v = hassle.

you'd struggle to break a c20xe if you service it.... more part readly available for it also...

granted the 8v will be cheaper though...

i dunno its probably just me... i like easy things

well i got one for free so and there's loads of these things in the scrappy, anyone know what figures i should get with it on carbs ?

well its about 130bhp as standard about 150ish maybe, the 2litre 8v is as much trouble as the C20XE, now ya done all the work if ya want the 16v 2litre engine it should slot straight in

the mot emmissions go on the year of the engine as well as the year of the car. mine being an n reg with a 1989 20xe in it, passed on the mot as the emissions from 1989 are higher level than those for a 1995.

just claim the engine is from a d reg astra. should pass easier. if you get a friendly mot bloke and can explain your car is a kit car, you can have up to over 7% i belive. pre 92's are allowed up to 4%
