The 'ongoing' chat is just to put pressure on Cesc himself. He knows he's not a guaranteed starter for Barca and United are playing on it.
If he does request to leave Barca will let him go despite their comments over the past week.

I want it to happen just so I can dig up all these quotes from oRbbo and Ben on how it's not going to happen. Best bit is that Fabregas hasn't said he wants to stay or leave Barca so far, it's just Barca saying he's not for sale. Which is what you say when you want the best price for a player. Same with Rooney.

What do United and Arsenal fans think about their clubs conducting transfer business in a manor similar to Barcelona or Real? Everything getting leaked to the press and managers talking (only at United really) about it.

I would say its totally different as Barcelona usually start talking about signing someone before they've lodged a bid, then all the Barca players start chipping in too.
From what I can tell, Arsenal and United have both bid for the players before saying anything about it, which I would say they are entitled to do?

In fairness, Norwich and Swansea have made some very good signings this summer.
Will be interesting to see if Hooper can hack it in the big league. He's quality at Championship/SPL so should be ok at Norwich
