Agreed, he has impressed me and proved me wrong tbh. His defensive tactics held City back last year but he appears to have taken stock of things in pre season, ditched his Italian philosophy and gone for it. Hes also made some very astute signings.

A lot will depend he manages things on the pitch when things inevitably get tricky, they arent going to win every game 5-0. So far so good for him though.

I think we need to have this discussion at the end of the season. Chelsea were running away with the league at the start of last season then look what happened. All seems a bit knee jerk.

As i said though, he was stuck in his Italian defensive ways, he's learnt that you cant do that in the premier league and hes fixed it. A sign of a good manager is being able to admit when you are wrong and change it for the better.

He could have signed all the players he did sign in the summer. If he had continued to play with 3 holding midfield players they werent going anywhere.

Yep long way to go, what they have managed has been impressive, however, we are yet to see how they handle the pressure of leading the league. The club hasnt been in this position for a long, long time.

i think a lot will depend how they bounce back if they hit a bad run, it's alright winning 1-6 when your on a roll, but drawing or losing against a few clubs at the wrong end of the table who have "figured them out" could cause a bit of upset in the camp

i would agree but looking at their goal difference 9 games in must give you some idea how the rest of the season will pan out, theyve already smashed high quality teams..tottenham etc

Aye, quite a few appeared around here the past year or so. Few Chelsea fans too.

I always think would I like it if Usmanov bought us outright and punted in millions.

I think no. It would be like having a cheat for Champ Manager. Fun at first but then it gets boring and less and less rewarding.

all you have to do is look at chelsea to know where they are going.

the calibre of players they have on the bench is immense and not all of them will be happy being a bench warmer.

Originally I would have said I would give them 5 years before the guy gets bored and realises he can't create an English version of Barcelona. Certainly when Chelsea beat them (6-0) a few seasons ago they definately had a long way to go. They were attracting in my opinion second rate players, people from top 6 teams and no name foreigners when Real Madrid were getting Kaka, Benzema etc. Last season for me was when they started to look like they could actually upset the top 4, I dismiss the FA Cup win over us as I saw that as peer pressure!

They are starting to attract the players now, albeit for the money, and will win the league soom, but I'm still not convinced it is long term for the owners.

They will win the title, they've bought it.
