It was, I just flicked it to manual yesterday and set it to half to see if it's any better. Although it made me realise how dull the screen seems to be all the time when set to auto, maybe that's why autos better for battery.

Just got one clock widget and that's it.

I mean stuff like I wanted get an app that automatically knocks the phone to silent when I get to work but then I thought that's going to be constantly checking where I am so will surely drain battery.

Nah you can see in your battery usage your main drain is screen meaning you must be using it shit loads or have a bad power saving setup as Gary said

That was when the brightness was set to auto, wouldn't class two hours usage as shitloads. I did manage three hours yesterday, after scouring forum's it seems anywhere in the region of 2-3 hours screen time is good going. I guess the advantage of having a big screen also has its downsides.

Battery issue seems to have been solved. Disabled S-Voice (including the thing where you can tell it to 'wake up') and Google now. Managed 3.5 hours screen time today and only turned that off at 1pm.

Yeah that must have been listening constantly for a command. Quite liked some of the Google Now stuff so may give it another try at some point.

Yeah I turned that off. Got annoying because that was multi-tasking on the iPhone so kept double pressing instead of long pressing to switch between apps. Apparently makes the button more responsive turning it off, can't say I've noticed that though.

I wish you could set the Google Sync interval, I'd be happy with it just updating every couple of hours rather than randomly/instantly which it seems to do quite frequently and having three accounts must be using some battery.

I didn't even know you could turn the wake up thing off.

Although with lots of usage, I still have 42% left, It was taken off charge around 10AM.

Yep, when you hold the home button to activate S-voice, click the menu button and choose settings and turn it off in there.

When you say lots of usage what's your standby and screen time stats?

Today I'm on 13hrs since taking off charge, 3.5 hours screen time and 12% remaining. I'm pretty happy with that, not quite what I used to get out the iPhone 4/5 though.

I'm pretty sure it's listening to music(through headphones) whilst browsing twitter/FB that rapes the battery because it gets very warm at the bottom.

I've got the part I can double click the home button turned on (although never ever used), just not the wakeup part.

I'm starting to come round to it a bit more again now. I feel like an addict going through rehab, gone cold turkey, had the crash, now starting to recover

Good job there's millions of settings to sort everything out, like no I don't want a shortcut created on my home screen every time I donwnload an app.

Where is the option to disable this?
Never use to do it on <2.3 and it's a little annoying

Had that on my S2, don't know why they've not put it on the S3 though.

It seems to do a really poor job of handling data. When out and about trying to do stuff that requires data, I get connection errors more regularly than should be acceptable.

It seems to loose data when it flicks between all the differnt data connections G+, 3G, 3G+, H, H+ etc and it seems to want to change this connection more than it should. For example sitting at my desk browsing the net it has full bars on H+ but will randomly drop to 3G and 3G+ then go back to H+ whilst nagivating pages, which then causes it to throw up connection errors.

Sometimes I'll be sitting with H+ and full bars and both the up and down connection arrows flashing away only to get a proxy/connection error, refresh a couple of times and the page loads fine.

Millions of posts about the same problem and maybe this is why I keep gettng connection errors trying to post on Facebook, or load messages in the eBay app, but then try a few times and it works fine (when it's not trying to switch between connections)

http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s3/580911-data-connection-issue.html

Clearly max connection and still this...doesn't do it all the time but enough for it to be annoying.

I guess I could blame it on the network but never had this problem before and been with them 4 years.

Also, where can I used this NFC shiz?
