That diagram is wrong. You do have to move your hand to touch the top right/left bit but that's about it.

once you go to a bigger screen iphone looks ship in.comparison

It's based on 95th percentile anthropometric data, so it's just an average 'guess' really. It's probably skewed towards Apple because it's explaining Apples choice of screen size on the iPhone.

I'm not sure about that being accurate 95th percentile.

Can another couple of people try that, I've got loads of movement up the way but almost none down.

I just tried it and the only bit my thumb doesn't reach is the very top right next to the speaker which isn't part of the screen anyway. Thumb can touch all of the actual screen.

If I move my thumb about I can touch the whole screen, I was trying to swing it up and down in an arc.

4S I'm doing it with just now, I can cover much more of a Desire S though, the curved edge makes quite a difference.
