Other peoples top speeds were done on Brunters, so you have to hit your speed and stop in under 2 miles. I did my speed on a road over twice as long, so please don't compare my car to proven fast ones!

I've never wanted it to be compared to cars with way more power! Its one thing saying my car can do 174, but you have to ask yourself how long did it take me to get to that speed. Probably twice as long as prooven cars on Brunters. On brunters I think its hit 154.

I'm quite confident on the accuracy of the speed, as it hit 7150rpm in sixth, which on an F28 with 195/45/16's does equate to 174.

timrud your car IS a fast car no doubt about it and i`m not having a go i`m just interested mate
the only way we have of being any where near accurate on top speed was on the rolling road where the car registered 152 at 7264rpm without the gas turned on but it has revved to 7750in top on the road once again without gas

alright everyone?

im at york dragway on monday for the rwyb, so i will speak to the owners then.

i was thinking about trying to get this for near the end of june?

then if people need to get their cars sorted they have a bit time to do it.

cheers

What box you running Gaz? With your roling road figures it sounds like an F20? I know your not having a go mate! I'd be quite unbelieving if I hadn't actually gone and done it.

With a turbo engine, there is enough torque there to keep it pulling in the top gear if the road is long enough. It accelerated ever so slow after 150-ish. I think the strech of road was in the region of 4 miles, and the car must of come off the rounderbout onto it at 70 easily. So when you consider the distances involved its not that much of an amazing achievement!

Anyway more importantly, whens your new super engine going to be done? I can't wait to see you hit an 11 sec 1/4!

Why York Dragway and not Elvington?

The surface of York is'nt exactly ideal, and the road back round to the paddock is terrible. As is the entrance and car park, which are riddled with pot holes. I've only run there once and i was'nt impressed.

306 gti-6 engine fits i believe. but the gearbox is too big so you cant get full lock! also the extra wieght doesnt make it worth it for the power increase

and for the cost involved you can get more power from the 1.6 16v for the same money.

Are you just going to do this once? Would be kinda cool to do two legs, then each side could adjust their strategies etc for the second time, could be more interesting...

i beg to differ
a turbo/Supercharge conversion is what about 4k
i recon my mates cost less than that and would demolish all your Force Saxo's all day long around a track and 0-60
