isnt that the same for corsa's though

Yeah, most car's are though.

not really, there arent many n/a cars that will see you much power from an exhaust and filter

a std vtr will run a mid 16 to 17 1/4, a standard vts will run a mid 15, and its 10kg heavier too.

vtr is no match for a vts untill you spend £1000's or some kind of forced induction.

out of interest, someone round near mine had a 2.0 red top (xe?) nova that went against my old cammed 106 gti, he lost miserably, same story with a grey m reg red top corsa (done by courtney) from newcastle area.

not to be underestimated too much, like i said, mine cammed ran a 14.6

With the exception of the number 1 spot the times on that saxo leaderboard aren't exactly worrying for the vauxhall boys

im up for that, tried to organise a saxo v nova day last year but the saxo lot bitched out in the end. Also i think getting it on a proper track would be fun as well being as that what people give going on about how well saxos handle

I was meaning more than being restricted by just exhaust/filter. Look how Vauxhall restrict manifold's.

it would be hard to find a venue to hold a timed track event.

unless we used kames sprint track

maybe do this 1/4 mile then a track event

oh, just remembered, last trackday i was at at cadwell park, me in my vts and my mate in his vtr had a 2L 16V corsa in our group, needless to say it was lapped every session

wow im actually very impressed by the people that have actually admitted that there isnt really much in it between an XE corsa and a std vts!

my std vts (currently for sale btw ) always kept with my m8s XE corsa!

can i bring my 182 along for a giggle?

Provided car is on the road I'm in. Managed a 13.36 at the weekend, edging closer to the 12 second pass!

Is this gonna be a...

0-60

0-100

SQM

Top speed

kinda thing like Redline did or just a SQM affair?

Where's Andy Hamilton these days?

Wouldn't Brunters be a better venue?

I assume the 3 sec 0-60mph Saxo is a rear engined 'busa engined jobbie Beardy... is it road legal...?

The main prob with the Corsa is it weighs a bloody ton...! Literally!

... and the Saxo's are rather light...

I'm not convinced about the 12 sec turbo VTS time mentioned elsewhere on this thread, it was rather a suspect time IIRC and light years faster than all the other runs he'd previously done that day... hmmm...

One thing in the Corsa's favour is the fact that all the boosted/NOS'd Saxo's will probably lunch their gearboxes because they're make of chocolate.

Good luck to all who compete. (Corsa & Saxo owners)

Eh...so what about the cars that the engine originally came from, Calibra's? Surely a Calibra is quicker than a french piece of shoot?

100% road Legal, Mot'ed etc
like i said on the Saxo club site i can only see my mates Saxo's being the ones which will give the Corsa anything to play with, as from looking on there list of cars where look like standard Saxo with Cams or NOS etc not many (think there only 2) turbo or supercharge ones

Until halfway through 3rd gear the 106 GTI/saxo VTS is level with the XE corsa, after that the corsa pulls away quite easily
