I plan to buy the KAC-8151D Mono block and run 2 4ohm subs off it to take its impendance load down to 2 ohm.
this wiring only allows u to wire 2 subs onto one channel...so which channel do i use and what happens with the other channel?

Its a mono block amp, it only has one set of speaker terminals. So its the only one you can connect them to. On the picture of the amp, the terminals you see are the power terminals, and the high level input terminals.

Well i havent come accross a monoblock with two sets of terminals.
Anyway, when you buy the amp, the book will show you a diagram of how to drop it to a 2ohm load.

I have been on the website for kenwood n read the online manual...which is a nice idea using acrobat.
anyway it does show 2 subs wired up onto a channel each.
I thought myself that it would only have one...so is this 200 watts per channel or what the hell is goin on here?.
Speed 6 will u plz help seeing as u already own this amp.

WTF, go back to school! Its a monoblock right so ONE positive speaker terminal and ONE negative speaker terminal. Connect BOTH sub positives to the amp positive and BOTH sub negatives to the amps negative. You now have TWO 4ohm subs running in PARALLEL, which shows the amp a load of 2ohms. SIMPLE!

Ive never known a monoblock to have two sets of terminals. And if it did, your diagram is totally fucked.

and the 4th
If you guys say the amp is the way it is, these are the only four possibilites to drop the amp to a 2ohm load using 4ohm subs.

Thats the high level inputs. Thats when u run the speaker wires from the head unit INTO the amp ie. it has no RCA outs.
But if ur hu has RCA outs, USE THEM. use the inputs on the left of the pic.

WTF!! speed6 you CLEARLY do not know WHAT you are on about!!!
1: MONO means ONE, a Monoblock has ONE output channel.
2: As stated above, the photo shows high level inputs, which are for use with h.units that do not use RCA output!
Next you'll be telling us that you have hooked the battery pos and neg to the speaker terminals and the remote lead to your ariel LOL jeeze, please, and people wonder why I get fed up of this...

Its like i said right up the top that they were high level inputs.
I knew i was right
So because it only has one output channel, you would wire it up like this
Copywrite, id like to see this manual, cos i spent about half hour checking all the net and all kenwoods sites, an no manual for the KAC-8151D could be found.

Ok well speed6 is correct, there are sets of terminals.
The way they have done this is for convienience of connecting up two 4 ohm subs, but there is still only one internal channel. The two pos go to one point inside the amp as the same with the two neg points. So its still a monoblock.
Apologies to speed6
