Feature gets missed out, apple spend all their time explaining how it's not required.
Then bring out a new one where it's the biggest feature ever that apple invented.

Folders. Now thats an idea. Oh wait, all my phones since, 2005/6 have had this.

To be honest, none of it really makes sense to me John and I feel this is where you don't quite get the iPhone. Geeks and people who know techy shit don't buy them because another phone will do this better, something else will be better for whatever else.
For the average consumer, they look at it and go yeah thats hot, ooh you slide your finger over the screen to unlock it, Ooh a facebook application, shit like that is why people buy them.
From a personal point of view, I love the fact that I have a phone that keeps getting updated for nothing. I know its always stuff you can have on another phone but I think it really is a great phone so they can keep putting shit on it for all I care because I'm totally happy with it now anyway.

The reason people buy iPhones is that they are a piece of industrial design. As soon as the other manufacturers realise that design sells and start designing rather than engineering then people might start to care about their magical features that iPhone owners don't give a shit about.

I mean it as a good thing Ed, they are common as muck but people still love to fuck about with them. Women are always impressed with them.
Same reason I bought my iMac and iPod because I'm no tech geek I just want something to work well and look smart. But its just horses for courses I guess.

There'll be another conference later down the line to reveal it..
Same thing happened last year. Software 3.0 conference then the 3GS was revealed.
