Just upgraded to Vista with all updates ..etc ... and it works brilliantly!

They've fixed all the little issues and SP1 is due for release (not long is it?)

So i'd say Vista... XP is out of date now

Depends what your using it for....

My new laptop has Vista and works brilliantly - not one crash in 3 months - spot on. XP at work seems boring TBH.

xp, ive only played with vista a bit on my girlfriends laptop, but i just dont see the point at the min.

When theres something thats more benificial for me i will probs get it, as of the moment the driver issues ect put me off, not to mention i really dont care for pretty gui's in the least.

function over fashion. for me at least.

XP for the win

I have vista installed on my network at work, as well as XP and i permananently find myself changing everything to look oldschool, none of the crap that comes with vista, aero etc

Actually, get 2000, a million times more reliable than xp

do you know what, fk 2000 we should go old old school and use 3.11

3.11 fan club ftw

If you want a serious response, wait till sp1 comes out for vista, till then get a deal for xp with free upgrade when you want and are ready for it

Dont spend £600 on a dell pc, do what i did, i got all my parts seperatly of ebuyer cost about 450 thats without monitor though, and i really is easy to put it all together.

Ull get a pc 10 times better.

I wouldnt say Vista is bad for games.

I play the new Medal of Honor, tried the new command and conquer, half life2, and I play WoW most of the time along with some counterstrike... all run fine.

Still on my test pc untill i've finished decorating too, not a large spec but it's running Vista Ultimate perrr-fect!

Only disabled one annoying thing which was the user account control that prompts everytime you want to run a program

for what you listed vista will be fine tbh, as long as you get an alright spec'd machine.

personally i prefer XP, things run on vista don't get me wrong, they just seem to run better on XP at this moment in time.

there won't be alot of difference between the two for what you want. unless the supplier you're getting it from has XP licenses lying around you'll have to pay for vista anyway to cover you for using XP, as Microsoft aren't distributing XP anymore.

another alternative is if you're already using XP don't buy a new OS just get hold of an XP disc (if you don't already have one) and use your existing license key, which'll be found on a sticker on the side of your machine (depending on how confident you are at installing windows yourself)

vista definitely! ive had no problems other than one game not working (tiger woods) and at the beginning couldnt burn dvds... but nero have fixed that now.

a much more stable system, dont think its ever fully crashed? and thats since beta stage!

much better looking also personally, i could never go back to XP now

VISTA ALL THE WAY
