Got down the road from work trudling along in fourth at 40mph and the eml came on

I then realised that when i stopped at a junction the car hardly wants to idle. Very lumpy (sounds like an impreza )

Anything quick i can check on my lunch break to help get me home?

Going to check the leads wonder if there is anything else?

Cheers

disconnet the battery, for a few mins, and turn on some lights etc just to make sure its drained..

Check the HT leads by all means but that would not cause the car to die - unless say 2 were out.

prob some sensor - what engine?

ECU connector is in the Fuse Box mate.

Check the MAP Sensor is plugged in ok. It's a green plug to the left of the header tank filler cap.

although the ecu light is now not on if the car is running

Idle is really rough though. You can hear the exhaust is really spluttery and the rev counter fluctuates between about 700 and 900 rpm constantly

That means 12

which means "starting test"
Its not actually a fault code.

Check IAC valve is plugged in snug

Made it home

Car was lumpy and horrible when i started it and was spitting out a load of water shite out the exhaust onto the floor. But after it was warmed up and blasted round the village it was running fine so i drove home.

Just tested it for some codes and got some this time

12
12 (one flash gap two flashed)
12

47
47 (four flashes gap seven flashes)
47

and back to 12 and it repeats
