Seen in a thread a while ago (can't find thread), a rebuilt XE can be bought from vaux. Anyone know any more info on this?

they work on an exchange basis. you give them an old engine and money and they will rebuild it.
I looked into it with a LET. Anclicaries arent touched. New pistons, rings etc. Not to sure what they do with the head.
Was about £1200 + the old engine

R1000043
£1260 +VAT
You don't get an alternator and you need to give vauxhall an old c20xe in return as its exchange.

It depends on the part and on the company. I have some accounts that get 25%, but i do deal with Royal Mail.
Most is 10% or 15%

£1480 including VAT on exchange basis.
there's a surcharge of £700 without an exchange engine

and here's what a recon xe look's like from vaux..

Luks Brand new
So let me get this straight if you buy an old xe of the bay for 200 quid you dont have to pay the 700 surcharge

yes but you still have to pay £1480 for the bare recon engine
and you only get a bare block, no wires, sensors, lnlet, exhaust etc
